We are dedicated to transforming the global power structure by preserving and revitalizing indigenous African knowledge systems through music, movement, art, and expression.
By harnessing the power of storytelling, publishing, film, language, and cultural practices, we support communities in reclaiming their narratives, advocating for their rights, and deepening the understanding of their contributions to sustainable governance, education, and health.

Welcome to the Baobab Teaching Institute
Welcome to the Baobab Teaching Institute, a gathering place for seekers, storytellers, and builders of the future. Here, knowledge is not just remembered—it is lived, shared, and woven into the fabric of our communities. Like the baobab tree, we stand strong with deep roots in ancestral wisdom and wide branches reaching toward new possibilities. Whether you come to learn, to teach, to create, or to reconnect, you are part of this living tradition. Step in with curiosity, take what nourishes you and add your voice.
Our Vision
At the Baobab Teaching Institute, we envision a world where African knowledge systems thrive, guiding future generations in education, storytelling, and cultural expression. Rooted in the wisdom of our ancestors, we cultivate spaces for learning, creating, and preserving the traditions that sustain our communities. Through education, publishing, and art, we honor the past, shape the present, and build a liberated future where our stories, practices, and contributions are recognized, valued, and carried forward with purpose.

BURNT ROCK STUDIOS
Burnt Rock Studios is a storytelling platform dedicated to exploring the intersections of culture, history, and identity. Through immersive video journeys, we honor the past while embracing the future, connecting stories of resilience, creativity, and transformation across the African diaspora and beyond.

Capoeiri

Capoeira Angola
The Nzinga Capoeira Angola Group is dedicated to the preservation of traditional values of Capoeira Angola and of Bantu culture through research, training, rodas, publications, debates, art and social activism. Our group is guided by the wisdom of Mestra Janja, Mestra Paulinha, and Mestre Poloca who, each in their own way, seek to provide continuity to the teachings and lineage of Capoeira Angola’s greatest advocate, Mestre Pastinha.
Bringing African Craftsmanship to Life
NGA – A Seed Collection: Exploring Meaning and Identity Through African Craftsmanship is more than an art exhibit—it is an invitation to connect with the depth, beauty, and storytelling woven into Africa’s artistic traditions. Featuring over 80 masks, statues, bronzes, and doors from across the continent, this collection serves as a bridge between past and present, offering a space for reflection, learning, and cultural appreciation. We are seeking a host venue where this exhibition can become an interactive experience, engaging students, artists, and communities in a dialogue about identity, craftsmanship, and the enduring power of African art.
